Kareena Kapoor Khan commands attention in the latest poster for “The Buckingham Murders,” recently revealed by director Hansal Mehta on Instagram. The poster features Kareena dressed in a sleek black suit, projecting undeniable authority as she strides through a corridor. The caption hints at her pivotal role, “DS Bhamra is on her way to unfold the secrets of #TheBuckinghamMurders.”
The film, which has already generated excitement with its teaser, follows Detective Sergeant Jasmeet Bhamra, portrayed by Kareena. The teaser opens with a child walking through a park, followed by an ominous voice asking about a new detective’s start date. Kareena’s intense interrogation of a murder suspect sets a gripping tone for the film, where she plays a grieving mother investigating the murder of a 10-year-old in Buckinghamshire.

In addition to her acting role, Kareena is stepping into the producer’s shoes for the first time with this project. Written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, and produced by Balaji Telefilms and TBM Films along with Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena herself, the film promises a deep dive into a town filled with secrets and suspects.
Kareena has noted that her character’s inspiration comes from Kate Winslet’s role in “Mare of Easttown,” reflecting her enthusiasm for a role that blends detective work with personal tragedy.
Scheduled for a September 13, 2024 release, “The Buckingham Murders” also features Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. Beyond this film, Kareena will appear in Meghna Gulzar’s “Daayra” and Rohit Shetty’s much-anticipated “Singham Again,” which stars a stellar lineup including Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, and Akshay Kumar. This third installment continues the successful “Singham” franchise, which began in 2011.
